Tenaha ISD Notice of Student Threat

November 28, 2023

Dear Parents & Guardians:

Late yesterday afternoon, a student reported threat of a future shooting.  The threat was scrawled on a door in the girls’ restroom in the Tenaha Elementary Building.  School administration officials immediately notified the Tenaha ISD police chief.  A thorough investigation is being conducted and results will be posted as soon as they are available.

Law enforcement has confirmed there was no immediate threat to student/staff safety because of this incident. As more information is available, we will provide updates through our website, www.tenahaisd.com.

It is reassuring to know that this threat was promptly reported to an elementary teacher. This action reinforces the importance of students and members of the entire school community reporting a concern as soon as they become aware of a potentially dangerous situation.  The safety and welfare of students and staff are our highest priorities, and we will be addressing any student disciplinary issues in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the school at 936-248-5000 ext 201.

Sincerely,

 Don Fallin

Superintendent of Tenaha ISD
